Sin Dudas (Without Doubt) is a documentary film on the violation of human rights in the Philippines.

Taking the case of Benjamin Bayles, a human rights activist killed on the island of Negros in June 2010, as an example, “Sin Dudas” presents the culture of impunity and state violence in the Philippines, in particular the extrajudicial killings of human rights defenders. Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-24 um 21.55.48Benjamin Bayles was targeted because of his commitment to the denunciation of human rights abuses committed by members of the Philippines army against small farmers demanding their right to land. The case is unusual in that the suspected perpetrators were arrested and the army admitted that they were linked to a military battalion operating in the area. They now face murder charges in a civilian court; however six years on, sentence is yet to be passed.

The film was directed by Roehl Jamon and produced by Ulrich Rotthof, who worked with ASTM’s partner organisation PDG in Negros for several years. It was first shown in Manila in April 2016.
