During her visit in Luxembourg with Handicap International, our library has the honor to welcome Nujeen Mustafa. During a Lunch Talk she is going to talk about her journey, written down in the book ” The Girl from Aleppo: Nujeen’s Escape from War to Freedom ” .

Nujeen Mustafa is a disability and refugees rights advocate born in Syria. Due to bombing and shelling of her hometown Aleppo, she first flew to Turkey and a year later, at the age of 16, together with her sister to Germany in her wheelchair. During their flight they crossed the Mediterranean to Greece by boot and crossed many country borders by bus, train and foot, with her sister pushing her wheelchair. She started attending school in Germany, as the infrastructure in Syria and Turkey were not aligned for people with disabilities. Today she still resides in Germany, near Cologne, and is about to finish high school with her A-levels. She speaks Kurdish, Arabic, German as well as English, which she taught herself in Syria watching American soap operas.

Ce dossier explore une tendance particulière du paradigme sécuritaire actuel : la militarisation croissante. En avril 2024, l’Institut international de recherche sur la paix de Stockholm (SIPRI) a annoncé que les dépenses militaires dans toutes les régions du monde avaient augmenté en 2023 pour atteindre le niveau le plus élevé jamais enregistré.

Atelier de lecture (FR) – « La végétarienne »

Ricardo Sumalavia, un expert en littérature coréenne est sur visite au Luxembourg. Le CITIM a l’invité de nous parler plus sur son sujet d’expertise.

Han Kang, littérature du corps, douleur et solidarité:

La fiction coréenne écrite par des femmes depuis les années 1990 a construit son imaginaire littéraire à partir de la lutte pour la démocratisation du pays et des droits des femmes. Dans ce cadre, le travail de l’écrivain coréen Han Kang propose, dans une perspective individuelle et collective, d’établir des réflexions sur le corps, la douleur humaine et les relations de solidarité qui peuvent naître de ces réalités en conflit.

Rejoignez nous pour une soirée de lecture, découverte et discussion. Ricardo Sumalavia va nous lire de l’œuvre le plus récent de la lauréate du prix Nobel en littérature: « La végétarienne » de Han Kang. Après il va analyser le texte et on va rentrer en discussion.

Letztes Jahr hat Eymard Toledo ihr neuestes Kinderbuch veröffentlicht. Nach einer ausgiebigen Recherche im brasilianischen Regenwald und wochenlangem Schneiden und Kleben, ist das Buch “Kayabu  Eine Geschichte aus Amazonien” entstanden.

Eymard Toledo stammt aus Belo Horizonte, Brasilien und kam für ihr Studium nach Deutschland. Aktuell wohnt sie mit ihrer Familie in Mainz. Für Ihre Kinder begann sie damals Geschichten über ihre Heimat zu schreiben und illustrierte diese mit Ihrer Kunst.

Die Autorin und Illustratorin nimmt die Kinder mit auf eine Reise und erzählt über den Alltag der Kinder in Brasilien. “Kayabu” ist eine Freundschaftsgeschichte welche ein Fenster auf die indigene Bevölkerung Amazoniens öffnet.

Im Anschluss werden die Kinder in die Kunst der Collage eingeführt. Eymard Toledo erklärt in einfachen Schritten wie man vorgeht und lässt die Kinder somit ganz von selbst ihr eigenes Kunstwerk erstellen.

Das Angebot ist für Kinder zwischen 6 und 12 Jahren. Wichtiger Hinweis: die Eltern müssen während der Lesung und des Ateliers präsent sein!

Die Lesung und der Workshop sind gratis.
