Synopsis: Der Dokumentarfilm von Tagart Siegel und Jon Betz berichtet mit beeindruckenden Bildern über Menschen aus aller Welt, die sich das Ziel gesetzt haben, die letzten 4% des weltweiten Saatgutes zu bewahren. Diese Aktivisten, Kleinbauern und Saatgutwächter teilen eine ansteckende Leidenschaft, um gegen die größte Bedrohung der Saatgutvielfalt anzugehen: Agrarkonzerne, die mit genmanipulierter Saat und Umweltgiften auf Profit aus sind. Doch gerade Pflanzensamen haben die wunderbare Eigenschaft, aus etwas Kleinem wieder etwas Großes entstehen zu lassen…

A Canadian commission has recently released a report on MMIW (Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women). It has concluded that this is a cultural genocide.
Join Time for Equality for a discussion with Lyn Kay, Indigenous Fashion Designer, who will share her personal story about the many challenges and hardships she has personally endured and overcome. She will share her fashion designs and the meaning of each and how embracing culture is a path to breaking the cycle of abuse and violence. This is a testament to the resilience of the First Nations Peoples and how the communities are thriving.
Lyn Kay a First Nation of Cree, Ojibway and Scottish descent, will share her story of growing up in Canada surrounded by racism, poverty, alcohol, abuse and violence and how she created her own change with education and practicing and knowing her culture. She has spent 30 years working for the betterment of her people through roles in groundbreaking initiatives in Aboriginal health. Always passionate about fashion design and creation, in 1996 she began her own studio, Ringing Bell Robes. Lyn uses her designs and fashion shows to raise funds and to create awareness about issues in the indigenous community; Homelessness, Addictions, Violence and Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women) and Two Spirits (MMIW2S) and to encourage youth participatory learning.
