En avant les histoires! Un voyage dans la bibliothèque du CITIM

Samedi matin, dans le cadre des journées internationales du livre, le CITIM s’est transformé en point de départ pour un voyage en contes autour du monde : du Laos en Russie, en passant par le Sénégal et par Samarkand. Anne-Karen et Eleonora ont raconté en musique comment l’on rappelle le soleil, quelles ont été les péripéties de Hassan à la quête d’un trésor, ce qui arrive à la petite Diabou Ndao qui adore manger des gnioules et comment les animaux en Russie se sont partagé une moufle pour échapper au froid… Une quinzaine d’enfants, accompagnés de leurs parents, se sont laissé emporter par les histoires avant de se lancer dans la fabrication d’un petit tapis volant. Conference with Yash Tandon: Trade is War – The West’s War against the world

On April 24th, the CITIM hosted a public conference with Yash Tandon, organised by ASTM. Yash Tandon showed how trade policies of the West are camouflaged in a rhetoric that hides their primary function as the servants of global business. Their actions are inflaming a crisis that extends beyond the realm of the economic, creating hot wars for markets and resources, fought between proxies in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and now even in Europe. Tandon suggested alternative visions to this devastation, based on self-sustaining, non-violent communities engaging in trade based on the real value of goods and services and the introduction of alternative currencies.
